Pink Orange and Red bead sets
There are some new bead sets for sale in my shop. I was inspired by pink, red and orange colors with a hint of turquoise blue.
Maybe I have said it before, but it's my favorite color combination. I just love to mix these colors together.
Here are some photos of the sets.
Yesterday I worked in my garden. I have planted more than 60 flower bulbs in the earth! The Dutch names for the flowers are dahlia's, gladiolen, lelies (lilly's) and many more difficult flower names that I do not remember any more :)They will all bloom in the summer. I use the flowers to put them in vases in my living room. I can't wait for the pretty flowers to grow in a few months. This is a photo of the bare ground. Nothing exciting yet, just a little patience.....
Tomorrow we will leave for a few days holiday. All sales will be shipped from monday, April 23.

Flower Bead Experiments
Zoals jullie waarschijnlijk wel weten hou ik erg van bloemen. Ik heb ge-experimenteerd met het maken van bloemen binnen in een kraal (encased), maar dan op een andere manier.
As you all probably know I really like flowers. I have experienced with making flowers inside a bead (encased), but in a different way.
Ik heb een lotus/chrysanthemum kraal gemaakt en deze in een lentilvorm gedrukt. En dan krijg je deze kraal;

Ook heb ik een kraal gemaakt in bicone vorm. De bloemen in de kraal hebben dubbele bloemblaadjes. Tussen de bloemblaadjes zit een laagje clear glas, zo krijg je een mooi 3-D effect.
I also made a bead in a bicone shape. The flowers in the bead have double petals. Between the petals is a layer of clear glass, so you get a nice 3-D effect.
Dit vind ik zelf de mooiste kraal geworden. De bloem in de kraal is nog niet helemaal geworden zoals ik het voor ogen heb, maar we oefenen gewoon nog even verder. Het was de bedoeling om de kraal op Etsy te zetten, maar bij het schoonmaken van de kraal brak er een stukje bij het kraalgat af. Daarom hou ik hem maar lekker voor mezelf, ik denk dat ik er een ketting van ga maken ♥

It was my intention to put it on Etsy, but when I was cleaning the beadhole a small piece of glass broke off. I decided to keep this bead for myself, and I think I will make a necklace with it ♥

My new ring!
A few weeks ago I won a beautiful ring from jewelry designer Yifat Bareket from Israel. I was really surprised about it, because I had forgotten that the ring you could win by subscribing to her newsletter. I received a letter from the post office that it had arrived at customs, and last friday I was able to collect.
And I´m soooo happy with my new ring! I think it´s gorgeous! It fits well with my wedding ring (last picture below). I have to say that I fell in love with her jewelry the minute I saw it. Her jewelry is like I have never seen before, it's influenced by India, fairytales, and old Europe. I like it because it's elegant, colorful and creative.

To thank her for the beautiful gift I have decided to send some of my own lampwork goodies. I hope she likes it! I'll post a picture later, but for now it's a little secret and I would not spoil the surprise.... :))
Een paar weken geleden heb ik een prachtige ring gewonnen van sieradenontwerpster Yifat Bareket uit Israel. Ik was hier erg verrast over omdat ik was vergeten dat ik een ring kon winnen door mij in te schrijven voor haar nieuwsbrief. Ik kreeg een brief van het postkantoor dat het was gearriveerd bij de douane en afgelopen vrijdag kon ik het ophalen.
En ik ben zoooo blij met mijn nieuwe ring! Ik vind hem echt prachtig! Hij past goed bij mijn trouwring (zie laatste foto). Ik moet zeggen dat ik verliefd werd op haar sieraden op het eerste moment dat ik ze zag. Zulke sieraden had ik nog nooit gezien. Ze is beinvloed door India, sprookjes, en het oude Europa. Ik vind haar werk mooi omdat het elegant, kleurrijk en creatief is.

Wire Wrap Bracelet
Dit is de armband waar ik het over had. De kralen die eruit zien als kleine stenen (degene met het draad erom heen) zijn gemaakt met glas dat Gunmetal heet. Dit glas heeft een industriele look. Ik hou van het contrast tussen de felle kleuren en de grijze kralen. Ik heb nog niet besloten of ik deze armband voor mezelf ga houden, of dat ik het in mijn Etsy shop zal plaatsen....
This is the bracelet I have been talking about. The beads that look like little rocks (the ones with wire around it) are made with the glass called Gunmetal. This glass has an industrial look, in my opinion. I love the contrast between the bright colors and the grey ones. Winter wonderland
De afgelopen dagen is er veel sneeuw gevallen. Dat levert mooie plaatjes op!

Officieel is de sale op mijn etsy shop beeindigd. Maar ik heb besloten om de korting voorlopig aan te houden. Dat is goed nieuws voor jullie!
De blauw-gele set waarover ik eerder vertelde, is bijna klaar. Ik ben niet tevreden hoe 2 kralen uit de set geworden zijn, dus ik ga nog even aan de slag om 2 nieuwe te maken. Ook heb ik een armband gemaakt, die ik nog op de foto wil zetten. Volgende week meer hierover!

The blue and yellow set which I mentioned before, is almost finished. I am not satisfied with how 2 beads have become, so I have some work to make 2 new ones. I also made a bracelet, I still have to take an few pictures of them. More on this next week!

Inspiration
There are an few things I really cannot live without, beside the basics which every human body on earth needs. Those are my beloved ones, animals, flowers, lots of candles and colors! They make me happy, make my eyes shine, and my heart sing. I always had an strong fascination for colors. I love colors in all shades, except the pastel tones. They just don't speak to me, like other colors do. Purple and green are by far my 2 most favorite colors. I love to wear clothing in these colors. On some days I'm dressed totally black, but most of the times I combine this with an bright lipstick red color in my accessories, jewelry, belt, or what the heck maybe even red shoes (wish I had them!). But it can be purple also. I'm an person who love strong colors. I dyed my hair with red henna, because my natural hair was an dull brown color. And I started lampworking because I was so excited of all the beautiful colors that are available in glass rods. I just knew from the start that lampworking and glass beads will be with me for an long time. It's like painting with colors, but only on a small canvas.
I choose my colors mostly intuitive, I can have an strong feeling for pink on one day, and the other day it may be grey. It's the (my) trick to combine the color of the day with other colors to make it really 'pop'. Sometimes I'm working on a bead set and then start all over with an other bead set, just because I was bored by the colors I used (but never by the patterns, lol). Some beads will never make it into an whole bead set.
But if you are an lampworker to, there are some of those days that you have an color dip and nothing comes out your hands.....and on those days you may need some extra help.

I have an new bead set to show you. This set is made in the primary colors, red, blue, and yellow, with hints of orange and green.

It's my birthday!
Vandaag is mijn verjaardag, ik ben alweer 30 jaar geworden. Het leven lijkt alleen maar mooier te worden.Vandaag een rustige dag gehad met wat familie, want mijn verjaardagsfeestje heb ik afgelopen zaterdag al gevierd. Het huis staat nu gezellig vol met allemaal cadeautjes en bloemen die ik gekregen heb. Ik kijk met plezier en dankbaarheid terug naar deze dag.
Een nieuw jaar, 30 jaar oud, en een nieuwe periode in mijn leven. Ik ben benieuwd wat het nieuwe jaar allemaal gaat brengen.
En volgens mij kan het nog...... Voor iedereen veel gezondheid, liefde en creativeit voor 2012 toegewenst!

Merry Christmas!
I wish everyone an Merry Christmas and an Happy New Year!
An digital revolution has taken place in our house!.... we have bought an new flatscreen tv and laptop. Our old computer was from centuries ago, that's the mean reason that I don't update my blog regulary.
It took me ages to write texts and upload photos, it was very very annoying!
And that's good news for you! From now on I will frequently update my blog with news and photos. But first I'm enjoying the christmas days with my family. I hope you also have lovely and warm christmas days with friends and family!

Waiting for Christmas
De dagen worden korter, de nachten langer. Het duurt niet lang meer voordat het Kerstmis is.
Voor de meesten van ons een tijd van warmte en gezelligheid. Op tafel staat bij ons een schaal met diverse oosterse glaasjes met waxinelichtjes erin. Als alle kaarsjes aangestoken zijn, schijnen de patronen van de glaasjes heel mooi op de muren. Volgende week de kerstboom zetten, wij hebben er zin in!
Maar eerst is er nog Sinterklaas.... voor iedereen die het viert een hele fijne Sinterklaas toegewenst!
Na de Flame On heb ik nauwelijks nog inspiratie gehad voor nieuwe kralen. De druk van kralen produceren voor de beurs heeft zijn parten gespeeld in mijn creativiteit. Hierdoor heb ik geen zin gehad om achter de brander te kruipen. Het is leuk om kralen te maken, maar niet als je het gevoel hebt dit te moeten doen.
Toch heb ik nog het e.e.a. aan spullen liggen om op Etsy te zetten. Binnenkort ga ik de rest aan mijn winkel toevoegen en heb ik hopelijk weer zin om lekker met kralen aan de slag te gaan.
We wonen nu 2 ½ jaar in Duitsland, net over de grens met Nederland. Omdat we een oud huis hebben is er nog veel te doen. I.p.v. de kralen hebben we veel in de tuin gewerkt en heb ik mij bezig gehouden met het decoreren van onze woonkamer, een van mijn andere hobby's. De inrichting van de woonkamer en de muren blijven nooit lang hetzelfde :) Nu heb ik besloten om de okergele muur in de woonkamer paars te gaan schilderen. Het is erg leuk om met weinig middelen je woonkamer een hele andere sfeer te geven.
Kennen jullie trouwens het lampwork glass magazine; The Soda Lime Times? Sinds kort ben ik hierop geabonneerd. Het is een geweldig online tijdschrift met veel goede tutorials, interviews, tips etc. voor het maken van glaskralen. Echt een aanrader! Kijk maar eens op de site; http://www.sodalimetimes.com/

2 Necklaces with flower
Ik heb 2 nieuwe kettingen in mijn Etsy winkel geplaatst. Maar er komt nog meer. Ik hoop dat ik de komende dagen wat tijd heb om nog meer glaskralen en kettingen op de foto te zetten en aan mijn winkel toe te voegen.
Wat vind je van mijn nieuwe ontwerp met bloemen cabuchons onder mijn focal glaskraal aan de ketting?
Ik vind het ontwerp mooi geworden. Het kleine bloemetje draait niet om tijdens het dragen omdat de glaskraal veel zwaarder van gewicht is dan het bloemetje. Het ontwerp is origineel en wat ongewoon. Ik ben altijd aan het denken over nieuwe materialen die ik kan gebruiken in mijn ontwerpen. Het is spannend en ook een uitdaging voor mij. Soms is het een strijd en materialen doen niet altijd wat jij wilt dat ze doen, en juist op andere momenten vloeien de dingen uit je handen (flow).

What do you think of my new design with the flower cabochons beneath the focal lampwork bead? I love this design very much. The little flower won't flip over because the weight of the glass bead is much heavier than the flower cabochon. The design is original and an little unusual. I'm always thinking of new materials which I can incorporate into my designs. It's exciting and at the same time an challenge for me. Sometimes it's an struggle and materials won't do the thing you want them to do and at other times things just seem to flow underneath my hands.
Mijn man schrijft zelf Haiku's. Dit zijn niet rijmende Japanse gedichtjes wat de essentie van het moment weergeeft met hierin een verwijzing naar de natuur en een seizoen. Aan onderstaande Haiku moest ik vanochtend denken.

Wat vind je van mijn nieuwe ontwerp met bloemen cabuchons onder mijn focal glaskraal aan de ketting?
Ik vind het ontwerp mooi geworden. Het kleine bloemetje draait niet om tijdens het dragen omdat de glaskraal veel zwaarder van gewicht is dan het bloemetje. Het ontwerp is origineel en wat ongewoon. Ik ben altijd aan het denken over nieuwe materialen die ik kan gebruiken in mijn ontwerpen. Het is spannend en ook een uitdaging voor mij. Soms is het een strijd en materialen doen niet altijd wat jij wilt dat ze doen, en juist op andere momenten vloeien de dingen uit je handen (flow).

Quick Update
De Flame On zit er weer op. Ik hoop dat iedereen die er naar toe is geweest een leuke tijd heeft gehad, en is thuis gekomen met een hoofd vol nieuwe ideeen. Ik wil iedereen bedanken voor de leuke gesprekken die ik heb gehad en complimenten over mijn kralen. Tevens vond ik het leuk om ook 'live' de gezichten te zien bij de namen die ik ken vanuit de glasforums.
Uiteindelijk ben ik wegens omstandigheden alleen op de zaterdag met mijn kralen aanwezig geweest. Ik hoop dat ik hierdoor geen mensen heb teleurgesteld die mij op de zondag wilden bezoeken. Soms lopen de dingen anders dan je wilt dat ze gaan....
De komende week zal ik mijn Etsy shop heropenen en diverse nieuwe artikelen toevoegen nadat ik ze op de foto heb gezet.
Uiteindelijk ben ik wegens omstandigheden alleen op de zaterdag met mijn kralen aanwezig geweest. Ik hoop dat ik hierdoor geen mensen heb teleurgesteld die mij op de zondag wilden bezoeken. Soms lopen de dingen anders dan je wilt dat ze gaan....

Snap shots
Oh my, I'm almost finished for the Flame On!
I've worked so hard the last 2 months that I barely had time for other things (beside all the other stuff that just has to be done).
All kind of things were constant at my mind;
Which color combination will look great, the choice of making round or freeshaped beads, to many large cracked beads which causes me an lot of stress, designing and making jewelry, cleaning beads everyday etc.
I even dreamed of beads in my sleep (yes, really!)
So, what do I have to show at the Flame On?
Here are some snapshots.......
My new Sun Flower necklaces
An detail photo of an necklace. Do you see the cute little flower bead hanging there? I have used some of these flower beads in my necklaces, I really love them! It fits my work really well.
And many beads! And this is not all yet........I have many, many more to show!
